Painting cars for over 25 years here are some things i have learned .Some manufacturers have a better handle on color matches .You might want to try a different paint company for a better match .There are also spectrograph cameras that can make a formula for YOUR car from an image it gets from a special camera so check with the paint supply stores in your area for this technology . Dupont and Sikkens as well as Herberts Standox all have these cameras .This will eliminate the variables in a refinished or faded cars finish to get a better match .The painter can vary the color by his (or her) spray habits and by the temp, range of reducer used . When dealing with metalics Heavy coats tend to dry darker and lighter coats lighter .Faster dry reducer lighter slow dry darker .The reason being the longer the paint is wet the further the metallic sinks from the surface .Hope this helps .
